Pediatrics is a field of clinical medicine that studies the etiology, pathogenesis , clinical features, treatment and prevention of childhood diseases, taking into account the anatomical and physiological characteristics of a child’s body. In Russia, the main focus of pediatrics is the prevention of childhood diseases ; The country has a wide network of children's medical and preventive treatment facilities. The state system of medical and recreational activities ensures the harmonious development of the younger generation. An important achievement of domestic pediatrics is a constant and steady decline in childhood morbidity and mortality.
Imagine for a moment that there are no children in the world. Everything seems to be the same: ships are sailing, planes are flying, factories are smoking, tractors are plowing the ground. And there are no children ... And this means that everything that happens in this fictional world devoid of children is completely meaningless, no one needs it, because everything we adults do is growing bread, creating machines, writing dissertations and poems - all this we ultimately do for the future. And the future is children.Go
In our country of universal social equality there is only one privileged class - children. “All the best to children!” Was one of the first slogans of the young Republic of Soviets. Even in the harshest famine years of civil war and devastation, the most difficult years of the last war, our people did everything to save, feed, clothe and put on shoes, to give the necessary knowledge to young citizens of the country.
Snow-white palaces of sanatoriums on the shores of warm seas and among wooded mountains, superbly equipped schools and boarding schools, nurseries and kindergartens - all this is the present day of Soviet children.
The constant attention to the health of mothers and children has always been and is the subject of special attention of our socialist society.
On November 20, 1959, the UN General Assembly approved a unique document - “Declaration of the Rights of the Child”, all of its 10 principles: the right to name and citizenship, love and understanding of adults, the right to protection and assistance, education and health ...
There are more children than adults on the planet: over 2 billion. This is only one of the reasons why 1979 was declared the International Year of the Child.
On January 1, 1979, in a greeting to the children of Leonid Brezhnev, he said: “Children are our future, they will have to continue the work of their fathers and mothers.
They, I am sure, will make life on earth better and happier. And our duty is to try so that the children of all nations do not know wars, so that they have a calm, joyful childhood. ”
In 1979, the All-Union Research Center for the Protection of Mother and Child was solemnly opened in Moscow. This center-palace, which has no analogues in world practice, was created with funds from the communist subbotnik.Go
From the first day of his life, the child falls into the caring hands of a doctor. A whole branch of medicine - pediatrics, vigilantly ensures that the child grows and develops properly. Scientific research helps the doctor to better understand the characteristics of the growing organism. And before becoming a pediatrician (pediatrician), one must clearly imagine what pediatrics is and what are the features of the work of a physician who has dedicated himself to children.
Pediatrics is the science of the child. But its complexity is that it deals not only with the child, but also deals with adults - parents, relatives.
How much suffering and hopes of parents and loved ones sees and feels pediatrician ! And how much a pediatrician needs to spend the knowledge, mental strength, skills to restore the child's health, and his parents - a smile.
The desire of a person who has decided to become a pediatrician to study and learn a creatively chosen profession is the first step in choosing a specialty. But one desire is not enough: we need, as a musician, hearing, special human qualities: the love for children illuminated by inner spiritual light, the desire to give all of ourselves to this noble and holy cause — the struggle for the health of the child.
... I am a doctor, not a writer. It is easier for me to cure one seriously ill child than to write about it. My today's appeal to a young reader, perhaps, suffers from some literary flaws. I wrote about what I consider most important in our pediatric work. He wrote for a long time, in fragments, because he was busy with his main work - he treated children. Maybe he missed a lot when he wrote. The conversation is too serious. Let the young, who decide to go to children's doctors, realize how beautiful and incredibly difficult it is.
If my notes attract someone and make them think about their vocation in the future life, I will be sincerely happy.

And this is the end of my short story about those who treat children, about the diseases with which children's doctors most often meet and which they should be, are simply obliged to win.
Not always, not every doctor succeeds.
What is the reason?
Immediately and do not answer. Difficult, neglected case of a disease ... Lack of knowledge, inability to use the many powerful tools that are now at hand in modern Aesculapius ... Or maybe fatigue, indifference, laziness? Do not go to the doctors, if indifference and laziness appear in your soul at least once!
... Tomorrow morning walk in my clinic. I will enter the ward and see a little sick person. He will look at me demanding and expectant. He expects a miracle from me. I have to help him ...
If you want to become a children's doctor or nurse working with children, then answer the following questions:
Can you calm your younger brother or sister?
Do you know how to put a yellow card?
Do you do it yourself and do you help your younger people do exercises in the morning?
Do you know what drugs can not be taken without consulting a doctor?
Do you sleep with the window open?
Do you know what the word "deontology" means?
Can you say what the most important quality should have a pediatrician?
