The Thoracotomy


Thoracotomy is the operation of opening the thoracic cavity. Indications: traumatic injuries of the heart, lung, vessels, tears of the esophagus , tumors of the listed organs, heart defects , which are subject to surgical treatment, and accumulation of pus in the pleural cavity. Access to thoracotomy is diverse and depends on the tasks of the operation.

Thoracotomy is performed more often under endotracheal anesthesia, less often under local novocaine anesthesia.
