The Dexamethasone sample
The

Dexamethasone sample

Dexamethasone test is used for differentiation of adrenal cortex tumors. In healthy people, 8 dexamethasone 0.5 mg per reception every 6 hours leads to a complete cessation of 17-ketosteroids in the urine. In patients with tumors of the adrenal cortex, even a dose of 2 mg per reception (also eight in 6 hours) does not affect the secretion of 17-ketosteroids. With bilateral hyperplasia of the adrenal cortex (Isenko-Cushing syndrome), the isolation of 17-ketosteroids after the administration of dexamethasone is significantly reduced.
