Go Diphostilbene


Diphostilben (Diphostilbenum) is stilbestrol disodium diphosphate.

Pharmachologic effect. Synthetic estrogen drug with a cytostatic effect.

Indications. Prostate cancer. Metastases in bone and soft tissue.

Mode of application. The dosage is strictly individual and depends on the state of the disease. Usually, treatment begins with high doses, which are gradually reduced.

Within 1-2 weeks, 0.25–0.5 g of the drug is injected intravenously and more, slowly, in the supine position of the patient. In the next few weeks, 0.25 g per day is administered intravenously.

According to the indication further doses reduced to 0.25 g 3-4 times or 1-2 times a week and continue the treatment for several months.

If the levels of acid phosphatases increase, the doses immediately increase. The content of acid phosphatases is controlled at least 1 time per month.

Inside the drug is prescribed first by 0.3-0.4 g, then 0.1-0.2 g 3 times a day, later in the case of stabilization of the tumor, 0.1-0.2 g per day is given.

Available in ampoules of 5 ml (0.25 g), a package of 5–50 pieces and tablets of 0.1 g, a package of 50 pieces.
